I trained with Coach Christi for 2 years until an international move took me away from Portland and our weekly sessions. I passed her outside the gym one day training someone else, and was attracted by her incredible positive energy. I was postpartum when we started training and Christi geared our sessions to how my body felt on the day, often depending on how much/ little sleep I'd had! She has an amazing ability to switch gears instantly (adopting a whole new program in seconds) if your body is struggling in any way. Some of our sessions were focused on stretching, posture and using my own body weight, and others were more high energy and strength-focused. I also have recurring shoulder issues and each session she devised a specific program (on the spot!) so we could still strengthen specific areas while avoiding any further pain. Her background and expertise as an award-winning athletics coach and former top athlete proved invaluable to me as we focused on strengthening my knees (and confidence) to get me running again. Every time I run now I can hear her encouraging and knowledgeable sound bites in my head! My sessions with Christi were a weekly highlight, she’s a fabulous person – funny, wise and committed – and a truly brilliant, expert trainer.
Christi is great at finding the athlete in anyone – even me! Her enthusiasm and energy keep you going. Strength is relatively easy for me, but flexibility and range of motion have been tough. She has helped me improve on both, and I can see the benefits in all aspects of my life. If you are having a bad day, or if you are injured, she will adjust the workout accordingly and you won’t miss anything. She has taught me all kinds of exercises and moves that I would never have done on my own. I love working with Christi!
